Johnny Winston, Jr. of Johnny Winston Community Action Resource Education Services is a multi-faced entrepreneur focused on providing consultation and educational services in CPR training, fitness & wellness and leadership solutions and the acquisition of future assets.
As a long-time resident of Madison, WI, he is a retired Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician. Winston was a Firefighter and during his tenure, he was promoted to various positions, including Training Officer, Fire Investigator, Lieutenant, and Division Chief.
In addition to his career in the fire service, Winston has served in various capacities for several community-based programs for underserved children, youth and families, including but not limited to: South Madison Neighborhood Center (now Boys and Girls Club of Dane County), Dane County Human Service’s Neighborhood Intervention Program, Briarpatch, Vera Court and Bridge Lake Point Waunona Neighborhood Centers, Madison School and Community Recreation. He was elected to the Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education for two terms from 2004 to 2010, serving as the Board President from 2006-2007.
Johnny Winston, Jr. completed his undergraduate and graduate education in Fire Science (A.A.), Public Administration (B.S.), and Management (M.S.), and is a Certified Public Manager (CPM) and has a certificate in Servant Leadership.
Johnny has four daughters and five grandchildren and two great grand children. His hobbies include strength training, attending concerts, attending sporting events, and traveling.
